Bigelow Loop - 2 days / 1 night
At 13.5 miles this Bigelow Loop provides adventurers with some of the best panoramic views in Maine with sweeping vistas of Flagstaff Lake, the Carrabassett Valley, and surrounding mountain ranges. With two 4000’ peaks, this overnight backpacking trip is a great introduction to the mountains of northwestern Maine. This loop joins the Appalachian Trail for the summit ridge run and offers a trailside lean-to and tent site for dinner and a welcomed nights rest. Head back to your car the next day and grab a late lunch at one of the many local comfort food restaurant/bars.
